School District Eligibility:
The purpose of Team Hills is to help further the development of
players who will attend and play lacrosse in the Half Hollow Hills
school district. As such all U-15 and U-17 players must attend a
Half Hollow Hills Middle or High School to be eligible. For the U-11
and U-13 age groups the player must have been registered and
participated in the 2010 PAL season to qualify.
US
Lacrosse Fees:
Due to insurance
requirements, each player attending the tryout will be required to
furnish proof of membership in US Lacrosse. If the player is not a
member of US Lacrosse, the membership fee is $35.00 for U15 and U17
players and $25.00 for U11 and U13 players. This fee must be paid
directly to US Lacrosse and you must visit their website
www.uslacrosse.org to register your child prior to the tryout.
If you were a member of Team Hills or the PAL Youth program last
year you do not need to apply as we have your number.
Commitment:
Because lacrosse is
a team sport, we expect 100% commitment to the team for the
tournament season. If you son or daughter is unable to make a
tournament for any reason, you will forfeit your tournament
registration fee for that tournament and if you miss two tournaments
you may forfeit your spot on the team without the ability to receive
a refund.
If you choose to
have your child play on another team during one of our Team Hills
Tournaments you will forfeit your roster spot for the remainder of
the season and the following season.
If you are planning
on having your child attend sleep away camp or know that there are
issues that will prevent them from fulfilling their commitment to
the team they can try out for an alternate spot. Alternates will be
entitled to attend all practices but will not receive a uniform or
be invited to tournaments. In exceptional circumstances due to
injury or illness to a regular player an alternate may be invited to
join the team as a full player. They will be expected to pay the
tournament fees and the uniform fee prior to the tournaments.
FAILURE TO REPORT
ANY PLANNED TOURNAMENT ABSENCE OR EXCESSIVE ABSENCES FROM PRACTICE
MAY RESULT IN YOUR CHILD FORFEITING THEIR SPOT ON A TEAM AND OPENING
UP A SPOT FOR AN ALTERNATE.
Commitments to Other Select Teams:
It is our
expectation that members of Team Hills will have Team Hills as their
primary lacrosse commitment.
Sportsmanship:
It is our
expectation that all players and parents will abide by the Positive
Coaching Alliance Code of Conduct, which has been adopted as the
official guideline for Hills Youth Lacrosse. Any conduct detrimental
to the program will be subject to review and could lead to expulsion
from the program as the lacrosse world is a small community and our
reputation is important to past, present and future participants in
our program.
